As a PACU Registered Nurse with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
- Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
- Measure and record patients' vital signs.
- Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
- Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
- Update charts, patient files, and medical records.
- Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating timely specialized interventions.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
- Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
- Attend required meetings.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Is punctual for all shifts and obtains authorization for overtime or schedule changes from Supervisor.
- Observe policies regarding breaks, meals, time off, and calling in sick.
- Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands
- Demonstrate behavior that protects the safety of self/others and of the facility and equipment.
- Keep work area clean and unobstructed.
- Provide monitoring of patient progress between Physician or PA visits.
- Participate in Professional Development activities and maintain professional affiliations/certifications.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from accredited school of nursing
- Valid Arizona State License
- Maintain CPR certification
- Working knowledge of computer programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of orthopedic examination, diagnostic, and medical procedures
- Knowledge of medication
- Complete and maintain HCP training
- Understand/Perform training on practice management software
- Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- RN License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-year experience in a healthcare setting
