As a CT Technologist with OrthoArizona, you will get to: 
  • Produce images of consistently good quality within the parameters and protocols established by Practice and those required by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) CT Accreditation program. 
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body. 
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination. 
  • Accurately enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from device to appropriate practice picture archive and communication system (PACS) and appropriate Radiology services. 
  • Properly identify patient name, account number and other pertinent information on the images. 
  • Maintain productivity that is commensurate with training, experience and number of hours worked when compared with peers working under similar conditions on similar equipment. 
  • Adjust scan parameters to achieve images of high quality on all types of patients, including larger patients or patients of any age. 
  • Perform required quality assurance testing on the imaging equipment and submit as required to Practice personnel or other agencies.  
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. 
  • Perform CT procedures utilizing a variety of frequencies, planes, and techniques.  
  • Collect pertinent patient history and document on requisition.  
  • Complete pre-CT screening questionnaire to assess suitability for environment. 
  • Start intravenous access as needed and perform intravenous injections using proper technique. Understand how to treat patients with infiltrated IV sites, as applicable. 
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies and life-threatening situations. 
  • Promote CT safety through education of personnel and physicians and monitors environment for potential hazards. 
Qualifications: 
  • High school education or equivalent (Required) 
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology or accredited CT program 
  • Certification Required: ARRT licensure as an x-ray technologist or other required state licensure (if applicable)  
  • ARRT registry in CT or equivalent work experience in computerized axial tomography  
  • Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association. 
  • Preferred: One (1) year experience as a CT Technologist
