As a MRI Technologist with OrthoArizona, you will get to: 
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross sectional images of the body. 
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination. 
  • Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency and develop film in an automatic processor. 
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines. 
  • Perform MRI procedures utilizing a variety of frequencies, planes, and techniques. This position does not utilize ionizing radiation in the performance of imaging examinations.  
  • Collect pertinent patient history and document on requisition.  
  • Complete pre-MRI screening questionnaire to assess suitability for magnetic environment. 
  • Start intravenous access as needed and perform intravenous injections using proper technique. Understands how to treat patients with infiltrated IV sites. 
  • Maintain proper oxygen therapy on patients who require oxygen. Maintain skills required to change oxygen tanks. Must be familiar with the use of masks and nasal canulae. Adjust rate of O2 flow with mask/nasal cannula according to written physician orders. Secure, transport, and secure e-cylinders. 
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies and life-threatening situations. 
  • Promote MR safety through education of personnel and physicians and monitor environment for potential hazards. 
 
Qualifications: 
  • Required: Graduate of an accredited radiology or accredited MRI program. 
  • Certification Required: ARRT- MR or obtain MR certification within 2 years of hire date. 
  • Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association. 
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • 1 year experience as a MR Technologist.
