As a Hand Therapist with OrthoArizona, you will get to:      
  • Review physician’s written referral to determine hand therapy treatment required. 
  • Evaluate patients using appropriate tests, measurements, clinical observation, and supplementary information provided by the patient. 
  • Develop individual patient treatment goals and activities based on evaluation of patient data and demographics. 
  • Administer treatment to improve and maintain function and evaluate its effects. 
  • Instruct, motivate, educate, and assist patients to perform various physical activities designed in the treatment plan. 
  • Monitor effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum results. 
  • Perform treatment involving application of physical agents, moist or heat packs, and other modalities as needed. 
  • Document treatment, response, and progress results onto chart and transcribes notes as required. 
  • Record treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Assist in training and orienting of new staff. 
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, Techs and Aides. 
  • All other duties assigned. 
Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment. 
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. 
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology. 
  • Working knowledge of computer programs. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Understand/Perform training on electronic medical records software. 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy program. 
  • Passed National Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy Examination.  
  • Licensed in the state of Arizona. 
  • Maintain CPR certification. 
  • Minimum 2 years experience specific to outpatient orthopedic hand therapy and splint fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • CHT Preferred.
